Alicia and Kyle’s wedding day felt intentional from the very beginning. Set at Caradoc Sands Golf Club, their celebration was intimate, heartfelt, and quietly elegant, surrounded by their favorite people who matter most to them, it was the kind of day where meaningful moments took priority and genuine joy was present. Their day was full of connection, laughter and quiet in-between moments, and an atmosphere full of joy, their day felt both elevated and deeply personal.
Set against the natural beauty of Caradoc Sands, Alicia and Kyle hosted a venue wedding that felt intentional, intimate, and effortlessly elegant. With the ceremony taking place in front of the venue’s stunning waterfall feature and the reception held in the charming outdoor cottage pavilion space, it was the perfect backdrop for their day.
Style & Colour Palette
The vision leaned into simplicity with purpose, allowing a few statement pieces to truly shine. The colour palette of green, white, peach, and blush felt soft and romantic, perfectly complementing the natural surroundings of the golf course.
Alicia looked absolutely stunning in her showstopper of a wedding dress with a dramatic train paired with a cathedral veil. This contrasted beautifully against her quietly elegant details (shoes, stationery, décor). Forest green accents carried through the wedding party details, tying everything together seamlessly.
And then there’s Alicia’s smile! She has truly one of the BEST smiles ever! A contagious, light-up-the-room smile that makes photographing moments feel effortless.
An Intimate Wedding Party
With just one wedding party member on each side, the day felt deeply personal and intentional. It shifted the focus away from formality and toward connection, something Alicia and Kyle clearly valued. This smaller wedding party dynamic helped create a calm, unrushed feel that carried through the entire day.
They also made a point to visit with everyone who attended, which spoke volumes about how present and grateful they felt. Their happiness was genuine, steady, and focused on the people around them.
Meaningful Moments & Thoughtful Flow
The formalities of the day started out with the sweetest first look between Alicia and Kyle! This allowed us to complete much of the family photo portion earlier in the day. This often creates a more relaxed experience overall, rather than trying to move quickly through formal photos after the ceremony.
Opting for a first look also meant that we could slow things down for newlywed portraits out on the golf course after the ceremony, giving Alicia and Kyle space to be together and truly take everything in. The newlywed portrait session is one of the only moments of the day that the couple gets to themselves after the ceremony and allowing it to unfold without rushing makes a noticeable difference. A calmer, more intentional approach to the formal photos sets an easy tone for the rest of the day.
Reception Details & Atmosphere
A candlelit sweetheart table, for just the two of them, is one of my favorite things couples can choose to do for their wedding day. It adds a beautiful focal point to the reception space and gives the room a sense of intimacy and romantic elegance. The "cottage" reception space at Caradoc Sands has a cozy charm to it and the space didn’t need much elevation. The décor remained simple and refined, allowing the setting, the emotion, and the connection between guests to take centre stage. It was a very hot August summer day indeed, so the open space surrounding the reception "room" was appreciated by all!
The Vibe
This was a wedding filled with warmth. Guests were relaxed, engaged, and genuinely enjoying themselves. There was constant conversation, laughter, and movement, the kind of atmosphere that makes a celebration feel less like an event and more like a gathering of loved ones.
Engagement Session Throwback
Alicia and Kyle’s engagement session took place at a nature trail during the fall, a perfect complement to their wedding aesthetic. The golden tones, soft light, and relaxed energy mirrored exactly who they are together: easy-going, affectionate, and full of joy.
